Post MOUNTFIELD MOWER PROBLEM
I brought a second hand mountfield mower which worked well when I first got it, and today it would not start, so I took the lid off (big mistake) some bits fell out of the pull start section and I dont know how to get them back together, anyone know where I can find a diagram

Its is a mountfield thoroughbred with a briggs & stratton engine, it would be a crime to pay for a service as it was so cheap!!

Thanks if anyone can help

CoMpO

Post Re: MOUNTFIELD MOWER PROBLEM
Hello Compo,

I have a feeling that it may in fact pay to find a local agent who should be able sort the rewind starter fault.

All B&S engines have stamped in their tinwork 3 sets of letters and numbers.
They read Model--Type--Code.

These are the key to everything with regard specific info and spares support.

I haven't got on too well lately with the B&S website for some reason..but usually operators manuals and spare parts diagrams are freely downloadable.

Very detailed service manuals can be purchased.

Link to a UK independant spares dealer. http://www.briggsbits.co.uk/
However all local garden machinery agents should stock suitable spares or have them available in a few days.

Clive.
