 make-shift cold frames
As the 'not enough cold-frame space' season is nearly upon us I thought I'd share this one. Those big plastic storage boxes with lids are dead good for making extra places to harden off young plants. As well to drill a few drain-holes in the bottom first mind you although the lids are pretty water tight if you put a brick on them. The lid-less type can be simply inverted over a few seed trays while they get used to the great outdoors (brick again). When the cold-frame pressure is off you can use the boxes to store stuff in your shed.
