having just noticed that no poll has been posted since May, is that symptomatic of the lack of interest from users? and the explanation as to why nothing more up to date is about?

I have seen the normal amount of bees mainly bumble but some honey bees too - but then again I grow plants which attract them

Sorry can't id bees so no help to you - I did dig up a wasp nest though if that counts!
