 Sweet Potatoes
I know this has come up before but just one more question.
I usually just pop mine in the airing cupboard and they sprout, however from what I've read from the forum it appears to be more successful in a bottle of water - but which end goes in the water the pointy end or the fatter end where it was on the vine and do you totally immerse or just let them sit touching it?

 Re: Sweet Potatoes
like potatoes I look for the little indentations or eyes that form the sprouts Westi and put that uppernost. Though if the airing cupboard works OK for you - why change? or you could trial both methods.

 Re: Sweet Potatoes
I know nothing about them but it seems to me if you can sprout them in an airing cupboard why not do that loosely in a poly bag of moist peat?

 Re: Sweet Potatoes
Update - neither worked this year! But got some absolute beauties online which were reduced to 6 for £5.99! I expected little slips but got full vines in pots. When I planted them out (they were well root bound), they had 3 - 4 little sweet potatoes at the bottom of each. Looking healthy but could do with some warmth to really get them to take off!
Will Update! Westi
