 Mellons and tomato feed
Hi all
I wonder if it is OK for Mellons to be given tomato feed?
Ive just picked one up at the GC (six inches tall 2 flowers) and am thinking about putting it in a space I have in a container that has two toms in it. Hence its gonna get tom feed at least once a week.
Any guidance gratefully received.

Hi David,
Melons make quite a large plant and wonder if it is wise to grow with you Tomatoes. I feel it could end up with you not getting the best out of either plant.
I really think it would be better for both you and the plants if you could find a seperate container for the Melon. I do not think the feed would upset the Melon but they are quite hungry beasts and apart from the size of the Melon plant you would have they in competition for what food you give them and that doesn't make for happy Bunnies!

Hi johnboy,
Thanks for the advice as ever, I'll put it in a box of its own and spoil it rotten.
I hear that the flowers need to be protected from pollinators until they are all open - any idea in a greenhouse how to do that, perhaps wrap it in fleece?
Thanks
D
