Whee - 4 spears just breaking through today. Happy, Happy, Happy bunny here as just love it and it is nearly 2 weeks earlier than last year! :D :D :D

Wow that is early, end of April is the earliest I ever had any, usually May though. Enjoy.

So is mine and lots of blossom attracting little fly like things and bumble bees....fingers crossed will get a good taste this year - 1 is definately not enough reward over two years!

Dear OH

My vast experience with pulling couch grass makes me more than sure it is asparagus (or couch grass cleverly disguised as asparagus). :wink:

Not the right forum but the no dig loads of compost on the beds suits the couch grass perfectly, it's looking better than ever! :D

Westi (Now where did I put that aspargus knive - might need a little sharpen & polish?)

Ours is a month early too. Already had our first taste of 20 spears. Set a new third bed last month of crowns from the Isle of White.

One chap on our site is picking his to. It's his first year to harvest just a few spears but they do look good. No sign of mine yet.
