 Re: Asparagus
Wow that is early, end of April is the earliest I ever had any, usually May though. Enjoy.

PS Westi my Plum Beauty is in full flower again - fingers crossed no more frost.

 Re: Asparagus
Dear Westi, what you think is Asparagus, is probably plump couch grass.

 Re: Asparagus
Dear OH My vast experience with pulling couch grass makes me more than sure it is asparagus (or couch grass cleverly disguised as asparagus). Not the right forum but the no dig loads of compost on the beds suits the couch grass perfectly, it's looking better than ever! Westi (Now where did I put that aspargus knive - might need a little sharpen & polish?)

 Re: Asparagus
Ours is a month early too. Already had our first taste of 20 spears. Set a new third bed last month of crowns from the Isle of White.

 Re: Asparagus
One chap on our site is picking his to. It's his first year to harvest just a few spears but they do look good. No sign of mine yet.
