 Mini Sweecorn I can't believe I have have cut my first mini sweetcorn today.
It's been a good many years since I have grown it because the badgers usually get to it first.
I wonder if I have beaten them to it by sowing early? Who knows I am just thrilled to have some before they do,

Re: Mini Sweecorn Wow Beryl, they do look good. I usually grow the big cobs, haven't tried those yet, roughly how many cobs to each stalk ? Looking at yours I am tempted to try them next year.

Re: Mini Sweecorn Usually about 5 or 6 to a stalk NB.
They need picking just as the tassles appear, any longer and they 'blow'.
From past experience the badgers always know exactly when the large cobs are ripe and they will do anything to get at them.
Hoping I've beaten them to it this time. They are so sweet. Needless to say I nibbled at them all evening.

Re: Mini Sweecorn Yes, NB - Mini pop. It was an old packet to. 2004 from Kings. Another proof that seeds to keep.

Re: Mini Sweecorn Thank you Beryl, given the right conditions its amazing how long seeds can remain fertile, apparently some seeds found in egyptian tombs have been grown again.
