 Re: Weather
Cleared a raised bed of weeds and cleared up round the strawberrys and currant bushes, carted all down to the allotment compost heap on the chariot as our garden one is full. Just got back as the heavens opened. Some days luck is with you! Cheers, Tony

 Re: Weather
The wind is roaring in the trees outside - glad I am in here! Walked to the shops this morning (a mile and a half) and just got home again before the heavens opened with sleet, snow and rain. We also had the first bramblings on the feeder today, the poor things are being battered as well!

 Re: Weather
Very wet and windy last night, but it was bright and sunny this morning Went to the allotment and noticed quite a few sheds had blown over down the exposed end of the site. One of those flashy looking metal sheds was just a mass of twisted metal this morning Somebody won't be very happy. Luckily nothing of mine was damaged It's nice to get a bit of moisture in the ground again. Makes it easier to get the parsnips out

We have had more rain than we need (we don't need any here ) and the wind has been a steady stiffish breeze. No more wind forecast for us over the weekend. I see it's now only southern England likely to see the worst.

 Re: Weather
Bad again tonight in south, and Snow tomorrow apparently. It does seem to have been exceptionally stormy recently! The general rule is to watch weather systems on the eastern coast of USA, as they turn up here a week later. Slight subject change, but there was a worrying article in the 'i' this week about massive plumes of Methene gas escaping from the ocean. Methene being 20x more damaging to the atmosphere than CO2 It was escapeing from the seabed from massive reserves, and the general worry was such huge sudden increases in such gases could cause rapid climate change. http://www.independent.co.uk/environmen ... 76134.htmlOn the bright side, the Fish & Chip van stops outside my house tonight. Re: Weather
Enough snow here to stop me working out of doors, and i'm not a man that likes being stopped. Although, there's plenty of indoor jobs to do.....

 Re: Weather
Well, we've had no gales, no torrential rain - and now no snow!

 Re: Weather
Good morning Alan, Grab it while you can. Come the Spring, you'll probably have 6 months of rain to look forward to

 Re: Weather
A white world this morning and hard frost tonight - that should kill off a few bugs (what an uncharitable thought for Christmas!).

Looks like spring's come early - It rained last weekend, most of the time since and this morning it's settled into the Christmas rain forecast for at least the next five days.

 Re: Weather
It never seems to stop raining here at the moment, I can hear the cars going down the road outside my house and it sounds very wet indeed. Mmmm looks like it is going to be inside jobs today. It never seems to get light properly these days.

 Re: Weather
Dear Catherine, it looks as if we are in for a wet day here, too. If you are indoors all day, no tearing little peep holes in Christmas wrapping please.
