Do you have an Assistant Gardener?
I do and today she's really really busy.

Yes several, my chicken lady and duck pest patrol, I wouldn't call our cats helpers though, More like your dog, except when they decide to rearrange my new plantings LOL

Afternoon Peter, now that brings back happy memories of when i had my dog, i still miss her after all this time. On a happier note, the newest allotment holder has got a very friendly 30 year old daughter.

Re: Do you have an Assistant Gardener?
Great Pic Peter - beautiful hound! My assistant gardners are no help at all! The cats think the greenhouse is theirs and lie on all the plants - even in this weather! I turfed the Birman out today and when I picked her up she was all hot and wet on her tummy. The dogs are like kids copying you - I dig a hole they dig a hole! I've yet to teach them to dig it in the same row as me and have to go along behind them putting all the plants back in. Fortunately having the adder on the allotment means they can't come there! Re: Do you have an Assistant Gardener?
My dog, Suzy, has become a really good companion down at the allotment, provided she has had a good run first. We have to cross two large playing fields to get there so she's usually ready for a drink from the water trough along the pathway and then is happy to settle down for ages. Amazing how things change, doesn't seem long ago that I was asking for advice on this forum when I couldn't stop her from digging! She's nearly 6 now, still full of beans but a bit steadier.

Unfortunately my assistant gardener (Mrs Blackbird) is as fond of my strawberries as she is slugs, snails and catterpillars VPM x
