Post Old Gits Celebration.
Well what can I say. I must thank each and everyone of you for you kind wishes. I haven't had a birthday like this for donkey's years.
It started at 6.30am when Bert the post dropped in for his morning cuppa which got liberally laced with the 'Amber Nectar' to keep the cold out 'don't ya know' We opened my cards fron you wonderful peeps and it will be all over the district that I'm having affairs all over the place. In all I ended up with 26 cards and the great majority from you happy bunch.
I was taken out to lunch by my honorary daughter (the District nurse)and a couple of care workers that looked after me when I was unwell a while back.
This evening I have been entetained at a rather swish resturant by some of my old Airforce Buddies
and most of them are older than me. No 'strippa gram girl' as we all agreed that we have forgotten what to do even if we were given the opportunity!!
All in all it has been a really superb day thanks to you wonderful lot. You really do not know just how much I appreciate it.
I was going to post a method of growing Horseradish but have deferred it until the morning. This letter has taken me ages to write as I swear my fingers are swollen 'cos I keep being out by one key.
Goodnight now 'cos I'm ready to drop off at the wheel.
Bless you all.
Most sincerely, Johnboy.
