 Pussy Cats
Ok folks here we go.
A friend of mine has just announced she's pregnant. This is fab news cos 2 years ago she ws treated for breast cancer and thought she would never have any kids cos of the chemo and radium therapy.
Here's the problem, she has 2 house cats aged 5 or 6 that need rehoming together cos they're brother and sister. Both are speyed and both up tp date with their jabs. They must stay together.
Can anyone help at all. She's going to have to take them to the shelter and she really doesn't want that.

Sorry, but why does she have to have the cats removed? Plenty of my friends have had babies while being owned by cats, didn't seem to be any problems. What didn't we know?

Because of the cancer situation and the sheer miracle that she's pregnant. She doesn't want to take any chances at all. She's not doing or keeping anything that may harm the baby.
She is a rational, logical intelligent person but she realises that this could be her one and only chance for a child.

Hi Lizzie
My Mother in Law is just recovering from breast cancer so the news about your friend is fantastic
Me and the wife would love to take on the cats, but with two pet rats and two budgies it might not be wise, lol
any advice on burns, I've just put my hand on a hob plate to see if it was cool, without noticing I hadn't turned it off and now my hand hurts like hell, what a dope am I !!!!!!!

Ice, cold water and more ice, until the pain from the water is worse than the the pain from the burn.
Trust me - I'm a nurse!

Hi Frantony
Just to let others know too. The cats are indoor cats and are very well behaved.
It's breaking her heart to get rid of them but, in the circumstances she feels it's the right course of action.
I'd have them myself but i've already got 2 cats, one of whome requires daily medication, and a dog. Plus, The Old Man has put his foot down with a firm hand. No more animals!!!

If the skin isnt broken put some lavender essential oil onto it. It will ease the pain tremendously. Do that after cooling it under the tap as per Tiggers advice.
