Why do you ask Peter? In answer to your question, thanks to the internet, I am a citizen of the world and I have family and friends all over the planet: Australia, New Zealand, America, Japan, China, India, Germany, Denmark, France, Holland, Greece, Spain, Croatia, and Italy to name a few. I value local but also think globally. I believe we can share information and learn from one another, also it is very interesting to see how others garden and live in other countries. Through my interests in gardening poetry, haiku and Occupii, I have contacts friends and relatives globally.

Woah, slow down, calm down. :?

Americans talk of dirt where the English talk of
soil.

If it's stuck to the carpet, it's dirt. In America, soil's name is dirt, which annoys me more than perhaps it ought. Oh, and planting seeds: seeds are sown, plants are planted. That and not aspirating the word herb, which invites uncontrollable mirth from me, which it shouldn't I know but it does sound hilarious said that way.

Well, I've just had a morning in the garden and my clothes are rather soiled where I wiped the dirt off my hands. Or is it dirtied by the soil on my hands. Amazing what people can go on about on the computer isn't it?
