Post Merry Tiller
Hello bebilja
I have done several oil seals on early Merry Tillers. Clive mentioned to me once that a special tool was made by Wolseley to remove the old seals without a strip down but I have never seen one. I take the whole machine apart, it’s quite good to check the chains and bearings over anyway. It is not that big a job but both the seals and the chaincase gaskets are expensive. The seals can be well stuck after 40 years but a small cold chisel or screwdriver will usually shift them. I sell the 1.25 inch seals on my website, Wizards, Cadets and US made machines use a different seal though, so which model have you got?
Thanks for plugging my website peter.
Regards Richard
