Post To plant or not to plant
Today I have bought 6 reduced raspberry plants and 2 blueberry plants from work...
They are looking quiet sick due to lack of attention, mainly water, but there are new shoots coming from their roots..
But for 50 pence each , I couldnt resist. They were £7 each.
The question is...after being indoors for so long and given the weather conditions outside at the moment...do I look after them them in the greenhouse over the winter, or can I plant them straight out? (the greenhouse is not heated)

Stuff 'em in a bucket of water for a day then bung 'em in the ground. Hardy beggers will thrive. Cheers, Tony.

When we have bought raspberries and it hasn't been good for planting we have just popped the bundle in a large pot of compost and left them in the cold greenhouse til early spring. We tend to err on the side of caution.

As long as the ground isn't actually frozen you should be OK.

Keep in mind that the blueberries will need a special acid compost.

Thank you all for your replies,

Solway cropper
The blueberries will be going into pots in the cold greenhouse in special acid compost.

glallotments and Kleftiwallah,
As the soil hasn't frozen yet here, I will plant them tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.
