Young Gardeners: Growing gardeners of the future Gallery - May 2012 Gallery
We have been following the progression of the kitchen garden at the John Whitgift Academy in Grimsby under the guidance of tutor John Cavill, but this month we take a look at John’s other project, a moon garden at Osgodby Primary School in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire.
Some crops are sown direct and some are started in our paper pots and planted into class 3’s bed.
After just six weeks the bed is looking so healthy and this has been planted and looked after by class 1.

The moon planting chart is consulted to ensure we are doing the right thing on that day.
Organic carrots grown in a few months are the best.
The children loved the fact that all the teachers were hands on too and Miss Doyle did loads of barrowing.
