Young Gardeners: Growing gardeners of the future Gallery - November 2011 Gallery
The growing season may be drawing to a close on the Whitgift Senior School garden in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, but the enthusiasm of the pupils has not diminished. As the pupils’ mentor, John Cavill explains, harvesting has caused plenty of excitement this month.
Some of the beans have deliberately been left on the plants to dry. Skie has been busily collecting them up ready for 2012.
Skie suggested using the old pop bottles destined for the recycled greenhouse to collect the beans in and she set to work to remove them from the pods and save them ready for storing.
The polytunnel is to be incorporated into the garden allowing the pupils to take on an exciting new project to feature in KG
