West Dean’s Chilli Fiesta moved to the August Bank Holiday due to adverse weather at the end of July. Over the three-days 17,000 braved the bank holiday traffic and weather to attend what has now become the biggest and most established chilli event in the country.

Dick and Dom judge RHS Young Photographer of the Year Competition

Award winning TV duo, Dick and Dom, will be joining the RHS panel to judge the 2012 RHS Young Photographer of the Year Competition, which sees children and young adults aged under 18 years submit their best gardening shots. Entry is free and images should be submitted online by 31 August 2012.

It has been confirmed that the first Garden Re-Leaf Day, held on 13 March 2012, has raised a staggering £52,431 for charity Greenfingers, which creates gardens at children’s hospices nationwide. There is expected to be even more money set to add to the total over the coming weeks.

Tatton Park Champions the Power of the People

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is championing the increase in community gardening in the North of England, at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park (18 - 22 July). The charity has seen the number of RHS Britain in Bloom and It's Your Neighbourhood groups increase by more than 20% in the region, and hopes even more people will join in and transform their local communities.
