The RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show, one of the most spectacular of the late summer calendar events at RHS Garden Wisley, returns once more between 10-12 September 2010 with its village style collection of stalls and displays. This must-see event promises to provide a great day out for gardeners of all levels and abilities

Over 40 nurseries and garden trade stands, many of which are Chelsea or Hampton Court Palace Flower Show gold medal winners, will be showcasing their top quality plants and garden sundries. Herbaceous perennials, Fuchsia  gladioli, lilies, agapanthus and chrysanthemums to name but a few will add colour and variety to the Show.

Chelsea Award winner Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants will be showcasing a new variety of Japanese anemone; Lady Emily and Lady Susan; a dusty pink semi double and a two tone pink single that are delightful additions to their display. Another Chelsea award winner HW Hyde will be exhibiting a wide selection of pot grown lilies that were planted in early July and have been grown outside. Varieties include; Lilium leichtlini, Scheherazade and Conca D'or.

The National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS) will be providing a spectacular display of colour and imagination under the theme ‘Floral Fantasy’ in the Floral Art Marquee. Over 90 displays will provide a huge variety of style and flower choice.

The RHS Advisory team will be on hand to offer expert advice on a wide range of areas. It’s also worth taking the opportunity to speak to the experts from the nurseries and trade stands, as well as members of Surrey NAFAS.

Visitors to the show will also be able to enjoy the Surrey Sculpture Society Trail and listen to regular Chelsea gold medal winner, Neil Lucas from Knoll Gardens giving talks and planting demonstrations on ornamental grasses and their uses in containers and companion planting. This will take place in the Wisley Plant Centre, 11.30am-2pm, 11-12 September.

Can gardening by the phases of the moon improve your crops?

Yes, definately. I've tried it and know it works.
I've never tried it, but intend to give it a go.
I have friends who use it and say it works for them.
It is utter nonsense.
I'm undecided.
