INSPIRATIONAL GARDEN VISITS FROM PERENNIAL

Perennial, the horticulturists' charity, has put together a wonderful programme of glorious garden visits. Many of the gardens featured are rarely open to the public and offer exclusive tours of the gardens or property, usually with the opportunity for guests to hear first-hand from the experts how the gardens have developed and are maintained. Inspiration by the wheelbarrow-load guaranteed!

INSPIRATIONAL GARDEN VISITS FROM PERENNIAL

Visit beautiful Ness Hall in York and be inspired.

Each event includes a superb lunch or afternoon tea in the ticket price and ticket numbers for all events are strictly limited. Profits from the events will support Perennial's work helping people from the gardening trades who are facing hardship or difficulties.

Wednesday 9th May

Houghton Lodge, Hampshire

An 18th Century cottage orné set in the heart of the tranquil Test valley; lawns sweep down to the riverbank, water meadows teem with bird and insect life, and views stretch uninterrupted across the valley.

 

Tuesday 15th May

Nantclwyd Hall, North Wales

£40

An incredibly rare opportunity to visit Nantclwyd Hall, home to Sir Philip and Lady Isabella Naylor-Leyland. The italianate gardens are adorned with temples and follies designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis.

 

 

Wednesday 16th May

The Garden House, North Wales

Overlooking the River Dee, this exciting garden is full of imaginative planting that makes the most of colour and form - such as the amazing golden privet hedge, clipped into waves.

 

Tuesday 19th June

Elton Hall, Cambridgeshire

This visit includes a guided tour of the Hall, a romantic, part Gothic house which has been home to Sir William and Lady Proby’s family since 1660.

Tuesday 10th July

Coombe Trenchard, Devon

A wonderful opportunity to visit Coombe Trenchard, a delightful Arts & Crafts style home in a peaceful parkland setting and surrounded by wonderful gardens. Owner Sarah Marsh will talk about the history of the house and ongoing garden restoration project and lead a tour.

Thursday 12th July

Ness Hall, York

The gardens at Ness Hall have been designed and influenced by successive generations of this family of keen gardeners. A cottage garden feel set within formal mature garden areas, over three acres of colour texture and inspirational ideas abound within the walled garden, orchard and lawned walks.

 

Wednesday 1st August

Wollerton Old Hall Gardens, Shropshire

Set around the 16th Century Hall House, this garden is bursting with design ideas – and has plenty to excite the plant enthusiast. Head Gardener Andrew Humphris will lead our tour, taking in the Yew Walk, Rill Garden, Lime Allée, Rose Garden and Lanhydrock garden.

 

Wednesday 22nd August

Chenies Manor, Buckinghamshire

Overlooking the Chess valley, these gardens are divided into a series of compartments with various colour themes and structural forms combining imaginative plantings and beautiful plant associations.
