International Allotment President to talk at UK AGM

Chris Zijderveld, President of the International Office of Allotment Gardeners (Office International du Coin de Terre et des Jardins Familiaux), will be taking centre stage at The National Allotment Society’s AGM on the 9th June 2012. The event is being held at Ryton Gardens, Warwickshire, where Chris will be joined by Gardeners’ Question Time panellist, Matthew Biggs and Garden Organic’s Bob Sherman.
Big things are happening at the National Allotment Society, starting wiht the AGM this Saturday.
Invited to attend the meeting by Allan Rees MBE, chairman of The National Allotment Society, Chris will be talking to over 100 delegates, sharing the successes and problems faced by allotment gardeners across the globe. Having travelled from Holland, Chris is spending his spare time in the UK visiting allotment sites and growing projects in East Anglia and Wales.
Donna McDaid, Secretary for the National Allotment Society, explained, “We are so pleased to be able to welcome Chris to the UK and are honoured that he’s speaking at our AGM. Allotment gardening is going from strength to strength in this country as more people want to grow their own and live a sustainable lifestyle, and as such we look forward to being able to share our examples of best practice with him and our international neighbours.”
The International Office of Allotment Gardeners represents over 3 million allotment holders worldwide, including members of The National Allotment Society.
