MOUSE-CAM GOES HELIGAN WILD!

Daily visits to the Lost Gardens of Heligan wildlife website - www.heliganwild.com - have doubled since the introduction of a new ‘Mouse-Cam’ streaming the antics of a pair of brave Wood Mice who have moved into Heligan’s specially contructed Barn Owl Tower.

MOUSE-CAM GOES HELIGAN WILD!

One of the wood mice in its cosy nest.

Fortunately for the mice -  a major food source for the birds - there are currently no Barn Owls in residence, though earlier this year the webcameras followed the latest brood of  Heligan’s famous Barn Owls courting and raising their young (in 2007 they created a Hannibal style sensation when one ‘ate’ its siblings  on camera!).

The Heliganwild.com interactive site is designed to compliment Heligan’s on site Wildlife experience and to provide up to date news, videos and events and all the latest developments from the Heligan Wildlife Team, and Heligan’s wildlife inhabitants.  It enables wildlife enthusiasts, and Heligan fans all over the world, to watch and learn about wildlife and nature live at Heligan via the webcams.

Heligan’s Horsemoor Hide is the hub for Heligan Wild and is situated in the middle of the estate, designed to give visitors close intimate views of the wildlife; either immediately outside or through a selection of remote cameras placed around the site. Included in this building is a large wildlife viewing area and interactive displays, consisting of photographs, videos and information gathered by the Wildlife Team.
