Rain stopped play – not likely!
By: Steve Ott
The Victory Garden Allotment Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Monday went ahead regardless of the weather. As luck would have it, it stopped raining just before the start. The weather didn’t put off attendance either.
The event was organised for the second year running by Cindy Cleasby one of our plot holders. Whilst she was hiding the eggs in various places along the pathways the children all potted up a sunflower seed to take home with them to grow on at home.
The children were very eager to get started on the hunt. There was a special prize for the one who found the first egg and another prize for the one who found the most eggs.
Another of the parents made lots of lovely Easter buns and there was drink’s to go with them. Hot coffee and tea was available for the parents.
The children had a lovely time and no child went home empty handed they all went home with an Easter egg and some sweets in addition to their sunflower seed in a pot.
