Take part in a Great Garden Adventure this summer

This summer holiday, RHS Garden Wisley plays host to the Great Garden Adventure (25 July – 31 August); a fantastic, fun day out for all the family. With great activities scheduled throughout the month, garden games and the Wild at Wisley play area, there’s plenty to explore and discover.
Fun for all the family at RHS Garden Wisley this summer
Activities vary from sowing helpful herbs to making an adventurer’s map, hat and flag to help you on the Wisley quest. As part of the adventure you can also join in with bird watching, den building, picnicking with bears, story telling and bug hunting* (activities vary daily, check the website for more details).
RHS Garden Wisley is the perfect summer destination to visit again and again as for the entire month of August children 16 or under get into the garden absolutely free. All children 16 or under are welcome but most events are tailored for children aged 3 to 8.
With spectacular displays of colourful planting and more than 200 acres to explore, there is something to keep the entire family entertained.

* Sow & Grow
Mon 25, Tues 26 July - Sow and grow feverfew, a useful herb for adventurers.
Mon 1, Tues 2 Aug - Sow and grow tansy, a herb helpful for repelling insects.
Mon 8, Tues 9 Aug - Sow and grow spearmint, an essential herb for adventurers to make their own tea.
Mon 15, Tues 16 Aug - Sow and grow lemon balm, an essential herb for adventurers to smell nice and make their own tea.
Mon 22,Tues 23 Aug - Sow and grow tansy, a herb helpful for repelling insects.
Adventure Kit Making
Wed 27, Thurs 28 July - Make an adventurer’s map.
Wed 3, Thurs 4 Aug - Make an adventurer’s hat.
Wed 10, Thurs 11 Aug - Decorate a pocket treasure box.
Wed 17, Thurs 18 Aug - Make an adventurer’s kite.
Wed 24, Thurs 25 Aug - Make an adventurer’s dream catcher.
Sat 27, Sun 28, Mon 29 Aug - Make an adventurer’s flag.
Story Telling
Fri 29 Jul, Fri 26 Aug - Join storyteller Jamie Crawford for tales of adventure. Timed sessions.
Bug Hunting
Fri 29 July & Fri 12 Aug - Bug hunts, borrow a bug hunting bag and explore for bugs.
Teddy Bears Picnic
Fri 5, Fri 19 Aug - Picnic with Bears – bring your own teddy bear and picnic and join us for a teddy bears’ picnic in the woods.
Birds of Prey
Sat 20, Sun 21 Aug, Come and experience the thrill of flying birds of prey as they swoop and soar. Displays at 11am and 2pm.
I-Spy RHS Garden Wisley offers children a fun way to explore the garden, with over 150 things to spot from cacti to caterpillars, and from moss to mowers. The books are on sale at RHS Garden Wisley and cost £2.50.
FREE Garden entry for children aged 16 or under in August 2011.
All children are welcome, but our activities are most suitable for children aged 3 to 11years old. Please check our website for workshop timings and further information.
Situated on the A3 near J10 of the M25.
Garden opening times:
9am – 6pm, last entry 5pm.
