Chickens on the up
The Eglu Go UP, the latest addition to the Omlet range, has all the benefits of the Eglu Go - on legs. It not only makes a stylish feature in your garden, but is easy to clean, straightforward to use and can accommodate up to four chickens. Your hens will love to roost up off the ground, and you'll appreciate its convenient height, which means there's no need to bend down to clean it or collect eggs. The addition of the optional Wheel Set allows one person to move it easily, so you can move it around the garden to let your grass recover.
The house is made from UV-stabilised plastic with a unique twin-wall insulation system. In summer its draught-free ventilation will keep your hens cool. The run is made from steel weld mesh, which is virtually impossible for predators to break. A unique anti-tunnel skirt sits flat on the ground and prevents animals from digging in.
If you're new to keeping chickens, the Eglu Go UP comes complete with everything you need to get started. Omlet can deliver a fully assembled coop complete with chickens within two hours of Oxford. If you live further afield, the company will despatch your coop via courier and recommend a local chicken breeder. If you already have an Eglu Go, you can convert it to a Go UP by adding the Frame and Ladder to raise your coop off the ground and the Wheel Set to make it manoeuvrable.
The Eglu Go UP is available in green or purple and costs from £449 (£499 with the Wheel Set). For more information visit www.omlet.co.uk or call 0845 450 2056.
We have one Eglu Go UP worth £449 to give away.
Dream homes on show
As the property market regains its confidence, the UK's fastest-growing home show is coming to London for the first time as a combined event for both self-builders and remodelers. The new London Homebuilding & Renovating and Home Improvement Show will take place from September 26-28 at Olympia, featuring products and recommendations from more exhibitors than ever before and bespoke advice from an extended expert panel.
A new feature for this year is the updated Interior Design and Decorating Clinic, brought to you by Dulux Design Service, while the Ask the Architects area will provide a space for dialogue between certified RIBA architects and visitors with questions about the design and construction process. Visitors needing advice can bring along their plans and ideas and benefit from the wide range of experts offering individual sessions in the Ask the Experts zone. This year's specialists will include Piers Taylor (award-winning architect and co-presenter of BBC2 series The House that £100k Built), Charlie Luxton (sustainable architectural designer and presenter of More4's Building the Dream), Julia Kendell (interiors and decorating expert from BBC1 series DIY SOS) and Matt James (designer and expert on ITV's Love Your Garden).
Tickets are £12 in advance or £17 on the door (under-16s go free). For more information visit http://london.homebuildingshow.co.uk or call the ticket hotline on 0871 230 1086.
We have 15 pairs of tickets, worth £34 per pair, to give away.
Crops cut and dried
Drying your garden produce concentrates its flavours, preserves its nutrients, and lets you extend your home-produced repertoire to include dried tomatoes, vegetable crisps, dried herbs, fruit leathers and dried ingredients for soups and casseroles. It's a very healthy way of preserving your crops, and the L'Equip FilterPro optimises this by incorporating an air filter to exclude pollutants like bacteria, dust mites and dirt.
Its unique pressurisation system recirculates some of the warm air for more even drying. Heat loss is lower than in dehydrators with large vents for air expulsion, resulting in significant energy savings, and its digital display allows precise setting of temperature and drying time. It comes with two deep and four regular trays, two fruit leather trays, four yoghurt trays and six mesh screens, and you can add more trays up to a total of 20.
The L'Equip FilterPro costs £159 and is available from UK Juicers, which stocks a wide range of products for a healthy lifestyle including juicers, blenders, sprouters, grain mills and water purifiers. For more information visit www.ukjuicers.com or call 01904 757070. And KG readers can claim a 10% discount when they order any dehydrator or accessories from the website - just quote code 'KGFP'.
We have two FilterPros worth £159 to give away.
Traditional tools built to last
As every experienced gardener will tell you, having the right tool for the job is a must. Whether it's digging over the vegetable plot, hoeing the borders or simply a tidy-up of the patio, using a strong well-crafted tool that's designed for the purpose will get the job done quickly and easily.
Made in the UK from FSC-certified wood and rust-proof stainless steel, the Moulton Mill range is built to last and includes an array of traditional-styled tools essential for maintaining a well-kept garden, from a digging spade and fork to dig, aerate and improve soil, to an onion hoe and lawn weeder to make light work of unwanted weeds. The range also includes drop-forged bypass secateurs, a hand trowel and fork, a sharp-edged patio knife and a long-handled lawn rake.
Whether you're a beginner in the garden or a pro, the Moulton Mill range of premium tools, each with a 10-year guarantee, will equip you to keep your outdoor space neat, tidy and well-tended for years to come.
To see the whole range of Moulton Mill tools visit the Gardman website at www.gardman.co.uk
We have five sets of Moulton Mill digging spades and forks, worth £53.98 per set, to give away.
Five-star bird feeding
The beautiful new Bird Feeding Stations from Harrod Horticultural, made using the same quality materials as their garden structures, will put your bird-feeding facilities into a league of their own. Harrod's Bird Feeding Stations are available in two different styles - Arched Top (£59) and Crown Top (£149) - to add a real touch of class to any garden. With designs inspired by the RHS-endorsed Harrod Obelisks range, they can double up as elegant plant supports for a display of wisteria, clematis, roses or climbing crops.
Both styles stand an impressive 2m (6ft 6in) high to create a focal point in the garden. They are made using strong 2.5cm (1in) square steel, galvanised inside and out and powder-coated matt black for a long-lasting stylish finish, which comes with a 10-year guarantee. They can hold three feeders in addition to a seed-catching tray, which can be positioned on any of the horizontal bars, and also feature squirrel-proof fixing hooks to stop feeders being thrown on the ground.
For more information on Harrod's wide range of quality garden structures, tools and equipment, visit www.harrodhorticultural.com or call 0845 402 5300.
We have 12 £25 Harrod Horticultural vouchers to give away.
