…there’s a new course on offer which aims to help us understand the science behind the forecasts.
If you’ve ever wanted to understand a bit more about the weather, rather than just being victim to its vagaries, there’s a new course on offer which aims to help us understand the science behind the forecasts.
Learn About Weather, developed by the University of Exeter in conjunction with the Met Office and the Royal Meteorological Society, will launch in September and run over four weeks, with a few hours of learning per week. Weeks one to three cover the basics of weather, starting with the big picture and then moving on to synoptic charts, air masses, fronts, wind and clouds. In week four there is the option of some more specialist learning. Experts from the RHS will be offering advice on how gardeners can make the most of the weather, how to garden in an environmentally friendly way and how you can adapt your garden to the changing climate.
