Teen art sensation to have a brush with RHS Chelsea Flower Show

‘Mini Monet’ Kieron is commissioned for limited-edition show paintings

Fifteen-year-old art prodigy Kieron Williamson from Norfolk is one of the world’s most sought-after professional young artists with a global waiting list of art enthusiasts who eagerly look forward to his next masterpiece.

Kieron’s first painting sold for a phenomenal £14,000 when he was just six years old; he has featured extensively on worldwide TV, websites and in newspapers and his work has been secured for many prestigious private collections, including royalty.

The wait for his next piece is almost over as Kieron has announced his next project. He will be appearing at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show as part of a new partnership with Hillier, the most successful exhibitor in the history of the show.

Hillier, as a champion for nurturing and inspiring future generations, has commissioned Kieron to paint a series of pieces portraying the “Stihl Inspiration” by Hillier garden at the show. The garden will take on a more rustic theme than previously featured in Hillier’ exhibits with corten steel used throughout, and orange and blue flowering plants alongside Hillier mature trees so Kieron will have plenty to inspire his work. Discussing the partnership, Kieron said: “So much of my work so far has been inspired by the outdoors and nature so I’m really looking forward to painting the Hillier garden. The Chelsea Flower Show is such a famous event and a great new challenge for me while also helping an important charity in the Wessex Cancer Trust. The plans for the garden look great; I’m really looking forward to seeing this year’s creation come to life – there is certainly lots to inspire me!”

After the show, Kieron’s pieces will be auctioned online to raise money for Hillier’s charity partner, Wessex Cancer Trust.

Keen to boost interaction with the exhibit, Sarah Eberle, who is the designer for Hillier for the third year running and is the most decorated designer at Chelsea, has thoughtfully created a walkway through the garden that will provide opportunities for greater interaction with all elements of the exhibit. This year, Stihl, the world-famous garden tool manufacturer, will be a sponsor of the Hillier garden. The theme of the 2018 garden is inspiration and the design will see the two companies uniting to encapsulate the “inspiring future generations” ethos of Hillier which has run through the company since its formation more than 150 years ago and runs through the partnership with Kieron.

Hillier holds the record for the most consecutive Chelsea gold medals and hopes the 2018 show will see it receiving its 73rd.
