Five other things

Five other things

A new daily email campaign has been launched, providing inspiration and ideas for people in this time of isolation

This idea has been launched by long-time friends Hannah and Ellen Mary. Hannah, owner of Bobo Stitch, sells cross stitching kits with a contemporary twist and promotes the wellbeing and feel-good benefits of the therapeutic, tactile craft. Ellen is agardening personality, writer, presenter and influencer who encourages people to engage with nature to boost their mental health and wellbeing. Five Other Things unites both passions to encourage others to do the same.

DAILY EMAIL

Five Other Things will send subscribers a daily email with ideas to help with isolation and to keep people entertained in ways that are appropriate in these times of social distancing. Many of the activities and ideas will encourage connecting with the natural world and being creative, and then appreciating how those activities can boost your mood.

The daily email will foster a community of people who are taking part and using the five daily challenges to feel more connected to one another. As part of creating a community ethos, people are encouraged to contribute their own tips to Five Other Things, which they can do by emailing [email protected].

Hannah and Ellen have been friends for over 25 years, and this is their first partnership. They recognised that they had ideas to offer that might help people through this tough time, so the idea for Five Other Things was hatched. Both Bobo Stitch and Ellen know how beneficial the activities they specialise in can be for mental health and wellbeing, so this is the perfect time for them to collaborate and offer their inspiration to the public.

SUPPORT

Hannah from Bobo Stitch commented: “I want to be able to support people during this difficult time of isolation, by giving them ideas for things to do that contribute to wellbeing. Both crafting and connecting with nature can being huge benefits. Isolation will be hard for many people, so a daily dose of inspiration will hopefully help people feel connected. Five Other Things is our way of reaching out to people and hopefully bringing something positive to their day!”

This idea follows the launch of Ellen’s #30MomentsinNature – a challenge that encourages people to try one of the moments or activities each day for 30 days, and then to reflect on the difference it has made to their life. This can be downloaded for free from www.ellenmarygardeningstore.co.uk, where branded t-shirts can also be purchased.
