Limited-edition vases for Unwins customers

Unwins is linking up with pottery designer Emma Bridgewater to offer customers the chance to own 1 of 1,000 limited-edition sweet pea vases.

Seed retailer Unwins is linking up with pottery designer Emma Bridgewater to offer customers the chance to own one of 1,000 limited-edition sweet pea vases.

The vase, which won’t be available to buy, has been designed especially for Unwins and was inspired by the sweet peas in Emma Bridgewater’s own garden. “The best bit of a garden for us is the kitchen garden where rows of salads and veg jostle with flowers and structure is created by the wigwams and allées which from early summer are covered in clambering and twisting sweet peas,” she says. “We pick them in profusion to fill the house with their gorgeous colours and delicious scent.”

The vase will be available from March 1 to the first 1,000 gardeners who buy three packets of seed from the new Unwins Sensational Sweet Peas range. Shoppers can then claim their free vase either online or by post, and just have to provide proof of purchase to qualify, while stocks last.

The Sensational Sweet Peas range includes old favourites and brand new varieties, including ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, which has enchanting blooms of light and deep red and a heady fragrance, ‘Erewhon’, a two-tone mauve-purple variety, and ‘Old Fashioned Mixed’, a selection of ‘grandiflora’ sweet peas, with dainty small flowers. The range will be available in garden centres and from http://www.unwins.co.uk
