Re-Leaf Day aims for new record

The sixth annual Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf Day takes place on Friday March 17, with many events continuing through the weekend.

This national fundraising event is in aid of Greenfingers, which creates gardens for children’s hospices, and garden centres and nurseries up and down the country are signing up to take part. The 2016 Re-Leaf Day was the most successful ever, raising more than £140,000, and this year’s event looks set to break the record again.

Last year, Greenfingers launched its A Million Moments appeal, which aims to raise ÂŁ1 million over three years. With the help of events such as Garden Re-Leaf Day, it aims to give at least 5,000 terminally ill children and their families the chance to enjoy spending precious time together outdoors. Greenfingers has to date completed 51 gardens in hospices around the country, and has a waiting list of hospices that still need help.
