Sowing parsnips

Sowing parsnips

Increase your success with this popular root crop

Parsnips can be sown from March to April and to increase the chances of a good full row of germinating seedlings station sow the seeds. This means sowing two or three seeds together at about 15cm (6in) apart. If more than one germinates simply remove the weakest seedlings to leave the strongest.
