The first Bedworth Seed Swap will take place between 11.00am-2.00pm, on Saturday 13th February 2021, at St Giles Church, Ash Green, Near Coventry.
The event will be a dedicated opportunity for local growers and gardening enthusiasts to come together and exchange their unwanted seeds for something more exciting. The organisers hope to promote the saving of home-produced, open-pollinated seed, and encourage others to grow more rare and unusual varieties of plants to help maintain diversity.
The Bedworth Seed Swap has been active on social media since May 2020, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, allowing visitors to follow our gardening year and to be inspired by the numerous unusual varieties we grow for seed. September-October is a prime time for growers to be saving seed from vegetables and flowers grown during the summer months.

Seed swap events are becoming increasingly popular around the country as people take more interest into where their food comes from and how it is produced. Many open-pollinated seed producers witnessed a huge rise in demand for their seeds earlier this year as a direct result of food shortages, caused by reaction to the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic.
Organisers will of course be adhering to all legislation and guidelines in force with relation to Covid-19 at the time of the event.
